Gatotray PET from BoorwormPup64-3, a system resources monitor window that sits in the tray. From the menu it can be enabled and disabled to run at boot.
This post was changed from the original gatotray PET version from FossaPup64 posted for this topic. Now has the version included with BookwormPup64 - with two small changes. This Gatotray PET launches htop (instead of lxtask) when the tray icon is mouse clicked and has a black background with red foreground for chart colors that is easier to see (for me)
htop launched, CPU usage, I/O wait, Free Ram & Temperature from Gatotray icon

WPS Office 2016 is a MS Office look-alike that consists of Writer (like Word), Presentations (like Powerpoint) ( and Spreadsheet (like Excel) programs that each have individual launch entries in the menu.
SFS located at the official ibiblio Puppy Repository.
Thanks to 666philb for this SFS.

This Wine SFS does not work on BookwormPup 10.0.8 and later
(Due to the updated glibc version)
This is Wine stable release version 8.0 SFS for BookwormPup64. This runs both 32 & 64-bit programs. It is lightly tested with no issues showing, though it has had no games thrown at it.
This was built using the Debian repositories available through APT, the installed libraries then isolated into an SFS. There are no menu entries because that is how it came when installed. It is as delivered.
No guarantees at all, use at your own risk It is intended only for BookwormPup64
Installation is simple. First thing is to uninstall any old versions of wine and remove the /root/.wine/ directory if you have one. Best to rename it or move it somewhere else until you do a test run with this version.
On first run, winecfg needs to make the sausage. The warnings during setup can be ignored. It will complain it can't find the directory at /root/.wine/, then it will create the directory at /root/.wine/ and copy a bunch of files from the sfs into it. That takes about a minute. After that the winecfg window pops up and you can configure wine to your liking and change the configuration if needed. (see first pic)
winecfg is the wine configuration console where you can choose which windows versions are being simulated by wine. This version of wine supports simulations starting at WinXP through Win10. Win95/98 programs should run under WinXP mode.
winecfg sets up on the first run and won’t complain after that as long as the /root/.wine/ directory still exists
( unless you have deleted /root/.wine/ ).
Additional information.
You should have a minimum of 2GB of system RAM to use this, but more is better because once you start opening windows apps the memory usage increases of course. This sfs uses about 330MB once loaded.
The pictures show the initial run of winecfg setting itself up, that takes about a minute. The full screen pic shows two 64-bit windows programs (vlc and winrar) running next to two 32-bit windows programs (irfanview and photostudio).
This pic shows first run of winecfg creating /root/.wine/

This post contains two lists of pets drawn from contributed FossaPup64 threads plus
other locations that have been tested and found to be compatible with Bookworm Pup64 10.0.2 to 10.0.8
without modification (List A). Please follow the install instructions in the source post.
The second list (List B) contains pets that have been modified to work with Bookworm Pup.
Those pets are attached to this post and contain the string "BKW" to avoid confusion.
If the install instructions differ from those in the source post the revised instructions will be detailed
within List B
List A
WOTD V1: (A utility to automatically display a different wallpaper of your choice for each day of the week. - 2018)
Install the attached pet, then reboot ensuring that you save the session. The pet will activate following a further reboot & save.
DLNA server for anyone with a Smart TV or other DLNA renderer.
Follow the instructions in the Fossa contributed thread - viewtopic.php?p=3616#p3616
to create the target USB stick with it's single test video and plug it in.
In bookworm use Synaptic or apt to install minidlna 1.3.0. (This will pull in the necessary Debian deps, libs and binaries.)
Install the attached pet.
Using rox navigate to the file /etc/init.d/minidlna . Right click it, select properties and remove all executable ticks.
Reboot making sure that you save the session.
Following confirmation that the server is active with 1 file in the repository, head off to
the TV to check that the server is detected & selectable. If not, you may on the TV need to
activate a scan of the local network.

@radky I have tested all of the tiny PETs from @ETP for quite some time, They are no issues in use of these tiny additions to v10.0.0.3. I think many/most users will find favor in having them.
Each of these are so incredibly useful while also being user friendly. Adds touches of modernization to go along with home's automation at the same time. AND, they are so very small.
Worth considering in the next release of BKW64 PUP

I noticed that Wine is on this list and it's compatible with 32-bit Windows apps apparently.
Before this, I remember having to have a separate 32-bit compatibility sfs as a dependency for Wine. Did you build/compile it with WOW64 enabled by any chance or something?
Thanks for making this btw.

You are welcome, hope it works ok. Did not compile it, I used the apt package manager and followed the instructions from 3 websites to get it working, it does have the WOW64 and i386 architecture installed. Originally tried to assemble the 8.02 stable version but was unable to satisfy all dependencies, then tried the 8.0 stable and was surprised that it installed and even more surprised that the 32 & 64 bit windows programs run side by side.

inadyn-2.12.0
Compiled from source in BookwormPup64 including statically linked libconfuse, this is inadyn, a small daemon client which runs in the background.
Start it manually when required or use one of the normal methods to have it starting automatically.
Works with any of a long list of possible providers, some free.
Sign up with any of them and then use the details they provide to enter the configuration details into /etc/inadyn.conf
If you have a dynamic IP address (one that the numbers can change at any time) but you want to be able to maintain a 'static' IP in the form of a hostNAME so that people can connect to you at any time (maybe you are running a server for example), then you sign up with a provider and choose a hostname on their domain. This daemon then ensures that if your dynamic numbered IP changes, the connection is updated and people will still reach you via the hostname. Note that there may be other steps such as port forwarding that you need to address in order for incoming connections to reach a running program, but having some sort of static IP is an essential requirement.

Not sure if this will still be helpful, but the 2016 version of WPS Office I've used since then calls home (to report version being used, I think).
I got around this by adding to /etc/hosts :

You might consider making a simple list of the programs that are submitted and keeping it on your first post. Would save both readers and posters time.

I have been experimenting with compiling VLC-3.0.20 from source in BookwormPup64
Generally all seems to build OK and work well. Some optional dependencies are included, a few are left out. In the case of many of these dependencies, the shared library is built-in to the Pup, but the corresponding DEV package is not in the devx so appears to be "missing". This then requires a lot of time and effort researching what can (and what should) be installed via apt or by compiling custom packages from source. I will probably open discussion(s) about the devx in Puppy in other threads. Obviously any shared libraries which have been introduced into the build environment also need to be copied into the package. I think I have done this correctly.
Libraries are all under the x86_64-linux-gnu sub-directory and executables (only) are under /usr/local in order to avoid the unwanted hacks of my files upon installation:-
(--prefix=/usr --libdir=/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu --bindir=/usr/local/bin)
Behaviour of the plugins cache seems different (stricter) compared to earlier versions. I can not simply create a fresh one and copy it back into the package. I put a pinstall script to refresh on installation. If ever you see warnings of a stale plugins cache just run in terminal vlc --reset-plugins-cache and that should resolve it.
This is mainly for my own use and as my own learning experience, but I will upload the package (which I may update later if necessary) in case it is helpful to others or in case others can offer any suggestions to me. http://smokey01.com/OscarTalks/vlc-3.0. ... 4-bkwm.pet

Audacious Audio Player
Version 4.3.1
Compiled from source in BookwormPup64
This build uses GTK2 rather than Qt5.
Most of the optional dependency plugins are included and working. A few of the "chiptunes" ones have been left out.
MIDI playback is working out of the box. A tiny and basic soundfont file is included for this, but you will need to load in a larger and more sophisticated soundfont file for better quality sound.
Playlist files such as .pls and .m3u should be working.
Some ROX right-click associations are included.
This is my favourite audio player with Deadbeef in second place, so it is mainly for my own personal use but I am uploading it in case it is useful or interesting to others. http://smokey01.com/OscarTalks/audaciou ... 4-bkwm.pet

I found all I needed available in Synaptic, I have only installed 3 programs so far, Handbrake, VLC and Password safe ...
Are all these programs listed on this string available through Synaptic

Season2Episode10, "Are all these programs listed on this string available through Synaptic?"
Yes and no. When the application is identified as a 'deb' it is available via synaptic; so those listing are informative. However, BookwormPup64 is not a 'cut-down' version of debian Bookworm. Puppys employ some unique 'infra-structures' [often just bash-scripts] rather than those of its 'binary-compatible' in order to reduce its size and consumption of RAM. The 'debian' infra-structures not included weren't needed for BookwormPup64's 'built-in' applications. Applications available via synaptic are built for debian Bookworm, their builders presuming some necessary 'infra-structures' are present in the OS. Synaptic will install those libraries not included in debian Bookworm by default. But some other libraries not included in Puppys may not be identified as necessary. In that case, a Puppy fan may have rebuilt the application as a pet, SFS or portable so as to include what synaptic would leave out.
Additionally, each Puppy is a 'snapshot' of its binary compatible at the time of its creation. Later the binary compatible may undergo 'upgrades'. When that happens the infra-structure of applications may also change. Puppys will not --and my not be able to-- include those changes without breaking something else. So when an application is offered as a pet, SFS or portable it may be both easier and safer to use those rather than the versions offered via synaptic.
SFSes and portables also provide this advantage. They are not installed over-writing the libraries of an older version. If there's a problem with the new version the old working version can still be used, the new version discarded, the User waiting for the publication of an even newer and functional version.
