I try noblenumbat.
I've an issue :
In lxterminal, urvxt or xterm terminal my locale is unrecognized.
And the frenchies letters é è à... are ignored.

Hi @Rantanplan is this different behaviour to JammyPup32? Are French letters recognised in other apps? e.g. Abiword? Geany? Are there error messages if you run the app from a terminal?

this issue only appears with the terminals : lxterminal, urxvt and mp console editor.
Accentuated letters are recognized in abiword, gnumeric, leafpad, geany, notecase, osmo, pfind...

I did a test under Virtualbox. I used two keyboard layouts (fr and fr_ca). Strangely, special characters specific to Molière's language are available (é, è, ç, ê, à) for urvxt and lxterminal.

When using pupNobleNumbat, I tested mtpdevice.
I was unable to view the contents of the android device.
It seems that mtpdevice uses go-mtpfs.
I opened a terminal and ran go-mtpfs (before, create mount point then go-mtpfs [mount point]), but I couldn't see the contents of the mtp device.
With pupmtp and simple-mtpfs, I'm fine.

An issue I've encountered: the chromium sfs listed to download doesn't work, and this appears to be secondary to usrmerge. Have tried the debian version (https://sourceforge.net/projects/lxpup/ ... /debian32/) - same issue (there were also a few missing libraries when trying this version, but retrieved them through PPM until eventually getting the same errors as in the former version).

Also, a JWM bug, I presume. After going to desktop settings and selecting a theme which does not contain the upper tray (standard puppy, for instance), or if manually removing that upper tray, pTheme becomes permanently half-broken (gives a JWM error after trying to change most settings)

You do need to to do a restart of the window manager after you have installed it..... this calls fix-chromium.sh - you can do it manually if you want.

Thanks peebee. As I did this under PUPMODE 5, it hadn't run the script automatically, but the script has allowed chromium to run. Although still with a number of errors on terminal, but that's a problem in my machine as I now see that the new kernel causes some issues between with nouveau and my card. nvidia has dropped support for x86 drivers for this card and the last version won't compile with kernels 6.5+, so I'll use the jammypup32 kernel to sort

Don't know if i'm at the right place
Just to let you know that the mtp app for the phone for transfering file by usb is not properly working on the noblepup32-24.04-250101.iso installed on a rw dvd live disc.
It mount the phone, but shows only the internal shared storage folder. When you click on that folder, you see no folder or file. You click on the up arrow to go to the parent directory and you see again the internal shared storage folder.
It does the same thing with the december and the november iso.
The app work with bookwormpup32-23.12-250101.iso if it is the same.
i am using a pentium 4 one core 2 thread processor box and a pixel 1 phone with android 10.

Tricky one as unable to test - maybe somebody else with a similar setup can investigate - if you run MTP in a terminal do you see any error messages?

First the window ask you to plug usb and and when you click ok /sys/bus/usb/devices/1-7 is written, and another window ask for mounting the device.
The first exit timeout happen when you click yes.
Then the window open with the internal shared storage folder and the second timeout happen.

When you click on the folder, sometimes you get a window with no file or folder in it, sometimes you get the folders but never the files in the folder

The last two exit on timeout is when you unmount and so

Most switched to simple-mtpfs or pupmtp (maybe pupmtp use simple-mtpfs).

I"m using noble on a dvd at the moment so i will try it in the futur, maybe a usb stick, as long as it does'nt damage my hd. i was thinking also trying the ubuntu mtp, but i was hoping it was an easy fix because go-mtpfs was tried only in a virtual machine and not an actual machine or something like that and would put the fix or change the mtp mounting on the next upgrade.
i'm willing to execute code in terminal, but i never used the terminal or used puppy before i posted here. i'm presently using the box mostly with win 7.
