It runs as root and for me and plays media files under /mnt/home (mounted partitions outside of pupsave) without any problems

OK, well I have never tested the Debian build in BookwormPup64 because I compiled my own which is "Puppified" and meets my needs. You may be able to set the Debian version to run as root from within Puppy, but it may refuse to run like that. I suggest you uninstall the Debian one and try installing the .pet I linked to instead. If you do that, let me know if it works.

and creating this masterpiece

in 10 months we are going to have to decide
what our new distrowatch candidate will be

do you think we should upgrade bookworm ?
or do you think we should consider another candidate ?
