@amethyst I was looking at the wrong file. I added pmedia=ataflash to lickmenu.lst and puppy no longer saves the savefile unless I tell it to.

Its been some time since I've worked under the hood of Puppy and I'm a bit rusty. I was a bit confused bu the menu.lst file since mine is called lickmenu.lis but once I figured this out it all came together!

Everything is on the HD. It is a clean install using LICK boot manager and fossapup64-9.iso. I do have a savefile. I have 3 different distros on the HD and they are all PUPMODE=12 :(

I tried changing ALL the instances of pmedia=cd to pmedia=atahd ing grub ...

I'v been running Puppy for several years now from a USB stick and I have it set to ask if I want to save the session using the "Event Manager" (NEVER save & "Ask at shutdown).

Now I'm booting from the HD, using LICK as the boot manager, along side Win 10. I can not figure out how to prevent it ...

I realize this is an old thread, but I'd also like to run fossapup64 from my HD in PUPMODE=13. NOT PUPMODE=12 so I can choose whether or not to save the session. I tried to fool the system, as instructed by mikeslr, but i'm unclear where to add pmedia=atahd as my grub.cfg (displayed below) says ...

I can't get the physical Vol up, Vol down & Mute buttons to work on my Dell e6430 when running Fossapup64. They worked fine when running xenialpup64 and older distros and they worked out of the box. Both distros find the same sound card on my laptop, and except for the button thing, sound works fine ...
