How to prevent Puppy from automatically saving session when booting from HD?

Post by Bill_Gates »

I'v been running Puppy for several years now from a USB stick and I have it set to ask if I want to save the session using the "Event Manager" (NEVER save & "Ask at shutdown).

Now I'm booting from the HD, using LICK as the boot manager, along side Win 10. I can not figure out how to prevent it from automatically saving my session . I understand the whole PUPMODE=12 and 13 thing, and tried to fool puppy into being in PUPMODE=13 using a post I've found here, but NO LUCK YET!

Any guidance would be appreciated. THANKS!

@Bill_Gates :
How does your menu.lst looks ?
..Maybe try adding "pmedia=ataflash" to your Kernel Line......or "pmedia=atahd".

Boot options that could be used in a boot menu entry (control how Puppy boots)

or "pmedia=atahd"

Must be ataflash or usbflash if you want to use pupmode 13.

Thank You @backi and @amethyst !

Its been some time since I've worked under the hood of Puppy and I'm a bit rusty. I was a bit confused bu the menu.lst file since mine is called lickmenu.lis but once I figured this out it all came together!

Thanks again!
