GetScreen.me.....another browser-based remote desktop app, packed in 'portable' format

Post by mikewalsh »

Evening, gang.

Following discussion about the browser-based DWService remote desktop app, @sonny linked me to a Lifewire list of remote desktop apps. Most of them are, as expected, for Windows/MacOS/iOS/Android......but the list DID include another one, available for Linux, that works along similar lines to DWService - using an 'agent' installed on the machine you want to control, and accessed via your browser.

GetScreen.me

I'm not going to duplicate everything I wrote in the rather extensive post in the other thread, so I'll provide a link for reading what I wrote about it:-

viewtopic.php?p=128514#p128514

If anybody's interested, and wants to take a look, y'all can find the ROX-app here:-

https://www.mediafire.com/folder/zp2qu1 ... e-portable

As always:-

  • Download

  • Unzip

  • Place the extracted ROX-app anywhere you like

  • Click on the directory to launch it!

The usual MenuAdd/Remove scripts are inside (rt-clk -> Look Inside) if you want to add a permanent Menu entry. This is another small one - like AnyDesk & DWService.......only a handful of MB in size.

Hope it's perhaps useful for some of you! Enjoy.

Mike. ;)
