Morning, gang.
Now then; I'm quite well aware that very few members will be bothered with this. I'm probably one of the very few that even concerns themselves with post "appearance". However, I made an interesting discovery earlier today....
If I want to emphasise a particular word, or phrase, I'll usually use the 'bold' and/or 'italic' options in the post editor. If I then decide I want to emphasise something more strongly, I'll use the font-size dropdown box, and select 'Large'. To my way of thinking, however, 'Large' - denoted by the value *size=150* - is really a bit TOO large for my liking. I assume that '150' is in fact a percentage figure, and refers to 150% of 'Normal', i.e., half as big again.
I decided to experiment. I tried modifying the 'size' figure to '130'.....and then hit the 'Preview' button.
Lo & behold, it works. Works nicely, in fact. So, by way of a demonstration, here's some of those modifications.....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
All of the below are already modified with 'Bold' and 'Italic':-
Size: 'Normal' (100) - Puppy Linux
Size: 110 - Puppy Linux
Size: 120 - Puppy Linux
Size: 130 - Puppy Linux
Size: 140 - Puppy Linux
Size: 'Large' (150)- Puppy Linux
However, the same doesn't appear to work in reverse, i.e., making fonts smaller. 'Small' (and below) all seem to come out the same size.......though perhaps that has something to do with my 'minimum' font sizes in the browser settings. Obviously needs experimenting with.......but it certainly works for larger sizes, as demonstrated above.
Just some useless info for y'all!
Mike.
.....etc, etc.
