Re: minimal modular puppy (from fossapu64)

fossapup is part way there if you remove the adrv.sfs. this gives you a pretty barebones pup if you use woofce to build fossapup and remove "zz_adrv" in DISTRO_PKG_SPECS you will get a 97mb pup.sfs. want smaller ..... start removing stuff from DISTRO_PKG_SPECS 97MB is pretty small, though...

Re: 4.31 Phoenix - An update of 4.31 with glibc 2.19

I uploaded this to dropbox mostly for myself: phoenix-sandboxed_0.001.cpio.gz ( download) I can't guarantee that it has everything in it that I used to compile ffmpeg but I'll test it shortly. It is not recommended for general use at this point because I need to do more testing, and I have only test...

So after some futher testing here is the script: #!/bin/ssed -nrf /^.*<\/Swallow>.*$/ {H;x;s#(.*)(<Swallow[^<]*.*xload.*$)#\1#g;p;s/.*//;x;d} {H;} $ {x;p} The only difference functionally from the orginal one liner above is that rather than have "p" (, which is for print,) as an option to ...

sed script to remove xload items from tray

Currently, this is just a one liner but I'll edit this post shortly to put it in script format. The one liner is for testing. cat ./.jwmrc-tray | sed -rn '/^.*<\/Swallow>.*$/ {H;x;s#(.*)(<Swallow[^<]*.*xload.*$)#\1#p;x;d};{H;};$ {x;p}' My motivation here, is that in the highly restricted containers ...

As a side note, I used the unxz command to convert the tar.xz archive to a tar archive and modified the script accordingly. I'm not sure how to modify tar to make this happen automatically.

I don't promises that this works at all but I've "successfully" compiled ffmpeg 3.2.4 on 4.31 Phoenix with some components updated from debian jessie. Here is the pet ffmpeg_3.2.4_i686.pet ( download ) and I've also created an archive that has the pet plus the changes I made to the base sf...

Gidday S243a, I used the standard 4.31 Devx. Sorry I am here infrequently - I don't use Puppy much at the moment on my present machine. Your absence is missed. Hopefully, you'll be around more in the future. I found devX_430.sfs and I'm trying this first: https://distro.ibiblio.org/puppylinux/puppy...

If One wanted a SalckBuild for PaleMoon, one Might Just find It

Some old info (links no longer work): On SlackBuilds.org ( SBo ) you will find two different scripts to create a Pale Moon package. One, called palemoon , will wrap the official binaries into a Slackware package. The other, called PaleMoon , is a build-from-source which attempts to stay close and tr...

cmake

Try doing it on a fresh version of puppy and first load the version of devX that matches the puppy release.

Re: Notifications from Unsubscribed Topics in "Off Topic Area"

I think I fixed this by going to "user control panel/subscribtions" and then unsubscibing to the "off topic area" so perhaps it isn't a forum bug but I don't remember ever subscribing to this forum.

Notifications from Unsubscribed Topics in "Off Topic Area"

I seem to be getting notifications from the "Off Topic Area" for threads that I'm not subscribed to (e.g. mozilla big brother). Not only that the UI to unsubscibe is confusing. Prior to clicking on it it shows a check box saying that I'm subscribed and then after I click on it in hopes of ...

Nice to see someone still has an interest in this series.. I enjoyed it :thumbup2: I was thinking that your phoenix version of puppy4 might be a good candidate for a chrooted (and/or containerized) version of palemoon. I haven't tried this yet though. I bring this up because on the facebook group s...

Re: [sfs_only]: Attack Pup, Pristine and with Updated Core/CLI libs/utilities

Running this hybird puppy in a container currently requires pflask, although perhaps one could do much of what pflask does by using unshare alone. For instance with unshare alone you can get a separate process namespace and this is helpful to make sure you don't accidentally kill the window manager ...

I'm getting a little closer to getting pflask working on puppy (rather than Fatdog64 or EasyOS).
