Would you folks be so kind to point me in the right direction to re-find the handy thread that lists newer portable browsers?
This old SeaMonkey 2.49.1 is getting beyond it's due date (SSL's) but very stable. The newer 2.53.16 (HANDY) portable while very integratable with 2.49.1 is not stable at all and produces WILD memory fluctuations.
I like SeaMonkey but looking to try a different browser perhaps.
Trying to stay with Xenial 7.5 with its own foibles and (one week-restart) bleeding memories.
Due to the huge volume of lib files nowadays, Fossa and whatnot are not reasonable options right now with this old machine.
Obviously, if I write this, 2.49.1 is too old to use the NZ site for downloads.
Original PaleMoon is no better, while still working quite well, updating that offers problems beyond a simple update=No worky. Oops, they much dislike negative feedback!
Hopefully not chastised for some bit of info missing.
Please, I click a mouse, not code on the command line in the console. Funny! To console/To THE console. Means different things huh?

Rather than repeat the info pp4mnklinux has provided, let me suggest that with 2Gbs of RAM you may want to try a newer Puppy. See this thread, https://www.forum.puppylinux.com/viewto ... 47#p100547 which suggests that Voidpup should 'fit your bill' [mentions some others] but also has advice regarding minimizing RAM-usage.

See also this thread about the availability of recent 32-bit Web-browsers, https://www.forum.puppylinux.com/viewtopic.php?t=8673. It will 'auto-update'; but can also be used to access mega.nz to obtain MikeWalsh's portables.

pp4, it took me a few years to re-find what was the old J Murga site (I was bobo75 I think), long-lost password etc and so glad I found this site.
We all need a helper once in awhile and this site does not disappoint.
I had needed a break from home car/truck diagnostics and started writing after a known site was now unavailable to me. (SSL's) That is the way. Mando ref.
This desktop is my best way to access the net. The phone, tho way more powerful, pales in comparison.
The mouse-click moron since 4.11.
