This distro project started from a few of the Puppy Linux Forum "Scholars" seeking, thru collaboration, a simple manner to compose.
In 2023, not only did they advance their initial investigations, but, like the work of Ph.d scholars, have propel this to scale.
As various big box Linux variations exist (some of which are Debian, Ubuntu, Suse, RedHat, and some solid unknowns from Intel and IBM), this forum collaboration has demontrated some clear approaches to extend those mentionables with a flavor acceptable to Puppy users; namely the KL series of forum distros.
Additionally some (but not all) of their most noticeable achievements are as follows
GTK3 for all OOTB screened applications...soon to be GTK4
Clear Persistence management for non-technical, as well as, technical users
Booting from ISOs directly while providing 'frugal' operations thru persistence no matter which ISO booting method the users use
Audio via Pipewire which intends to simplify system audio abilities
Video via Wayland to match Monitor-TV manufacturer needs and direction thru behind the scenes use with no user knowledge necessary
Networking consistency such that it matches SMB use from ALL major distros AND Operating Systems
Truly REMARKABLE accomplishments!
This makes this family EQUAL in STATURE to all other distros where it includes the best of their worlds and this product family's worlds. And these KL developers and contributors continue to morph this family into an Incredible distro family.
