most text is just a little too small to read without glasses. i want it to affect everything, pls. also, my meds affect my vision, changes with concentrations of anti-psyches across day/night.

See if menu -> Desktop -> JWMDesk -> Screen Font will give you an adjustment that works for you.
You may still find a specific program that has it's own font size settings.
But the programs preference or settings options should have a setting for font size.
All the web browsers have an option for font size changing.
The things you do not tell us, are usually the clue to fixing the problem.

You may also want to change/add here (e.g. will change rox file letters)
geany /etc/gtk-2.0/gtkrc and change font_name="" to font_name="Mono 20" for example
