Hi @dimkr , I saw your posts at internet archive about VanilladPup, and in the ISOS, I found what I was looking for..,... a small puppy with vanilla characteristics.- https://archive.org/download/Puppy_Linu ... -9.0.0.iso

I gonna try it by myself, but can you please tell me something in advance about it... so I can learn more?

Thanks in advance and CONGRATS for your good work

It's small, so what? So many issues got fixed since then. Newer releases are bigger but much faster and more stable.

This is the size I was searching for my 20 years old GERICOM portable computar.

I saved it for "love" reasons but know I can give it a second life.

Thanks a lot.

I tested it, and it doesn't satisfy my needs.-

I tested 9.3, 10.0 and I found I can't install them in my hard drive, so I'll continue with the one I'm using now.- VanillaDpup 9.2.18.

9.3.x boots much faster and applications (especially browsers) start much faster. In addition, it runs much better on computers with little RAM because it prioritizes SFS. Don't get confused by size, a clean installation of 9.3.x will be much faster and lighter than 9.0.x plus applications.

Thanks for your answer.-

I used rufus to install into a USB vanilladpup 9.3, I tested during some minutes and I liked what I see, so I decided I want to install, but....

I started the installation program and only appears the option to install it into a usb, and I want to install it on a HD (frugal or persistent).

I tryed too with vanilladpup 10 xwayland as you suggested me... and the same situation, I like it, but when wanna install only usb is permited.

Is there any solution to this?=

Thanks in advance.

Currently, no. The other installer depends on old stuff like grub4dos and doesn't support UEFI. It's disabled until somebody volunteers to fix it.

This possible I am using 9.3.6 as a frugal install
I was running Fossapup and just modified the menu.1st.
it works perfectly and boots fast.
My version of grldr is older than the one in Vanillapup. I don't know if that matters
