Why do Barry and Fatdog use pfilesearch 2.2 when 2.3 is available?

Post by don570 »

I'm confused by pfilesearch.

I noticed that there is a version 2.3 available...

https://github.com/puppylinux-woof-CE/w ... filesearch

Version 2.2 is the version that Barry K is using ---> he uses woofq

Fatdog uses 2.2 as well

There doesn't seem to be any substantial difference between the current woof-ce version you linked and 2.2 in Fatdog64. You can see the incremental changes: change history and file difference.

Edit: Correction, there is a one-line change: Fatdog64 excludes /aufs from the default search path. It makes sense.

Fatdog and EasyOS are not versions of Puppy Linux.

Stuff in Woof-CE is used to build Puppy Linux.

Developers of any Linux OS, can put whatever they want, in their Linux OS.
Any Linux software they choose to use.
Any version.

More to consider, when it comes to what version of Linux software you use.
What dependency software is needed and what version of it must be used.

The things you do not tell us, are usually the clue to fixing the problem.
When I was a kid, I wanted to be older.
This is not what I expected :o
