Born to lose; live to win
The real problem with windows is that it became a constant war with my own operating system how I wanted things. Its trying to serve two masters and I am not first in line. Big Brother knows best doesnt appeal to me. Thats creeping into linux too. Once windows is stripped down and locked down to a mere operating system, its not that bad. Its the constant changes and forced marketing that sucks. With me trying to clean up the confusion and mess. I feel same with android that tries to force feed me Google crap. And every non-opensource app seems determined to play Mata Hari.

Yes, I can't be bothered with Windows, though have it in dual-boot arrangement in this machine just in case needed for something (?).
However duncanlock is certainly biased when he talks about Windows commandline being no use despite admitting Powershell is quite powerful. Powershell is actually incredibly powerful and object oriented moreover (though can avoid the OO capabilities if you want) - if I did use Windows, powershell would be the tool I'd want to master. It is an incredible design that in many ways puts simple bash to shame. But... when I did once 'learn' powershell to some extent more than ten years ago, I have to say it was a steep learning curve generally.

I really enjoy booting up Windows 10, after not using it for a few months.
Usually takes about 30 minutes, for it to stop updating, rebooting to finish update, and finally getting to the working desktop

The things you do not tell us, are usually the clue to fixing the problem.
When I was a kid, I wanted to be older.
This is not what I expected
That has been my experience also, it has to update of course, takes time and then proceeds to the screen. Puppylinux is less stressful, less time consuming, more stable.
Ever walk through Time's Square in New York City at night???
That's Windows.
Lots of neon and LED light, more advertisement than the brain can stand and some fake Batman yelling at you to pay for the photo you don't want.
Hahhahhahhhaaaaaa. Ahh that's great. Thanks for the chuckle
