I have installed a new Dell Laptop battery in my DELL Chromebook 11 3180 model
Here's a tip for buying a battery.
The manufacturer (DELL) will select a battery to fit in several models to help factory production.
In my case the battery will fit in several other models.
For instance I saw from Amazon info that my battery will also fit in DELL Chromebook 3100 model (see image)

So to save money and convenience I bought locally a battery for 3100 model (for $30 Can)
However I discovered something interesting.
The cable that connects the battery to the motherboard is different where it plugs into motherboard.
I tried the cable that comes with 3100 battery and it didn't work.
When I used the original cable it did work. The model 3180 has more wires in cable probably for info about low battery levels???
So my tip is ----> Use original cable
Note that Amazon doesn't sell the cable (just the battery) whereas Dell does have the cable included in package.
