How to change the fit of desktop wallpaper?

Post by tammi806 »

Hello forum,

Okay in other Linux distros I've used I've always been able to change the fit of the desktop wallpaper I download and use by Zoom or Stretch or Center .

How does one do that in Easy OS.
Hopefully there is an easy way to do that.

Thanks in advance.

Hello @tammi806 ,
a fast way to solve this problem will be the 'Nathan Wallpaper Setter' in the pet-noarch repository.

open PKGget Package Manager
click on pet-noarch
click on Desktop
scroll down all the way till you found 'simple_wall_set-0.6-noarch' and install it

finally copy the background pictures you like to use to /usr/share/backgrounds .

If you put your wallpaper in /usr/share/backgrounds, then use Qwallpaper (in Desktop menu), it is automatically sized to fit the screen, keeping correct proportions.

If you look in /usr/share/backgrounds, there is a sub-folder, which contains the wallpaper correctly cut to fit the screen dimensions. Qwallpaper does this.

I was hoping there might be a way to tweak the fit.

I can live with the way they fit.

Thanks BarryK.
