I am running both Scarthgap and Daedalus in separate VMs with a Minimalist Bodhi Linux host, which is managed by virt-manager. The advantage of this is that the host, a Ubuntu derivative, interacts with the WiFi network and so I don't need to worry about the laptop firmware in EasyOS while the disadvantage is that I can run out of space without realizing it. It is a two-step process to increase the space in a VM: in the host run: truncate -s +(added space desired in units of G or M) (the name of the VM).img and in the VM, run gparted and resize the allocated ext4 space from the newly created unallocated space.
While in the Scarthgap VM, I decided to install Google Chrome from the menu. I successfully did this and opted for an icon on my desktop. Rebooting the VM, the icon was replaced by a triangle. Thinking the install had failed, I tried to reinstall with no change. This time, the installation software showed the software was installed yet it wasn't. I was perplexed.
The mystery was solved when I tried to update my VM. It turned out I had no free space left in the VM. So I powered down the VM and did the first part of the increase-space process in the host; booting up the VM, I finished the increase process. I then did the update process and rebooted. With the new version of Scarthgap, I then tried to install Google Chrome. Again the install failed and the installation software showed the software installed, yet it wasn't.
