What Lightweight Instant-Messaging Cross-Platform apps are there for Puppy?

@mistfire Initially I didn't want to use IRC - because offline messages aren't delivered ― but the person I wanted to communicate with - said he fixed it somehow.
I have HexChat preinstalled on the system ― but when I click to connect - the window just disappears.
I installed Pidgin from PPM. First it launched, and I was working to try to connect ― but then it stopped launching at all. Am I suppose to get it from PPM?
And where can I get Srain?

Anyway - I found a program that works with IRC - Ambassador. I'm using the Pale Moon Extension version. I would prefer to install the desktop version, if possible; if you know how. (I didn't ask before - because i still haven't talked to that person. Wasn't able to connect to his channel; and he's working on his own Server).
