How to have eno1 with static IP and wlo1 with DHCP?

Post by timg11 »

I'm trying to connect a BionicPub32 19.03 system to Wi-Fi for Internet, and directly to another computer using Ethernet with static IP.

I have tried the Dougal Network Wizard.
I can connect to Wi-Fi sucessfully if eno1 is on DHCP.
When I change eno1 to Static IP (only IP and netmask non-zero), the wlo1 connection is deleted.
If I re-configure wlo1, the eno1 is changed to DHCP.

Are these interfaces somehow interdependent?
Unless I'm missing something, maybe I need to do a manual config? I think Dougal is the most "advanced" from what I read.
Is there any thread on manual network configuration in this distro?

Thanks!

Yes they either both use DHCP or both use a manual IP setup.
BTW the issue with your wifi may not be due to DHCP but with the wifi not having the proper software.
