Make GitHub.com work properly with Palemoon (and maybe Seamonkey)

GitHub.com does not work with Palemoon for me:
- cannot edit comments
- cannot select items from certain dropdowns
- dont see commit comments next to files
- other problems
There is now a fix for this, available as a browser extension, for Palemoon (and Seamonkey?), which makes GitHub.com work properly.
So, how to install it?
See (very short) guide here on another thread:

Dunno, I tried clicking on it and also downloading it first and choosing "install addon from file" in the dropdown @"about:addons". maybe another about: config needs to be tweaked?
seamonkey 2.53.3 prevents me from installing and shows a dialog box to that effect in spite of a fix from a seamonkey developer included in the add-on last week

@williwaw, Same here, SeaMonkey says that the extension isn't compatible with "this version of SeaMonkey". The link you posted says "I was able to get GitHub working in SeaMonkey 2.53.4,", which leads me to think that this extension isn't going to install in your version of SM - 2.53.3 - and mine - 2.49.5. Perhaps there's a way to force installation nevertheless.
