Cracking. What do u think? {CLOSED}

Post by pp4mnklinux »

This people are who made users Hate internet.

This is the mail a friend of mine had received today.

"Dear XXXXXXX@hotmail.com,
I regret to inform you that there has been a security breach involving the devices you use for internet browsing.
Several months ago, unauthorized access was gained to these devices, allowing me to monitor your internet activity. Recently, I managed to hack your email accounts, including your password:
Furthermore, a Trojan virus has been installed on all devices you use to access email. This was made possible due to your clicking on links from emails in your mailbox, which facilitated my penetration into your systems. Through this malicious software, I gained access to various features of your devices, such as the microphone, video camera, and keyboard. Additionally, I extracted and stored your personal information, data, photos, and web browsing history on my servers. Moreover, I gained access to your messengers, social networks, email, chat history, and contact list.
To remain undetected, my virus continuously updates its signatures, making it invisible to antivirus software.
During my investigation, I discovered that you frequently visit adult websites and view explicit content. I managed to record your intimate moments and create a montage showcasing them. If you doubt the authenticity of my claims, I can easily share these videos with your friends, colleagues, and relatives, or even make them publicly accessible.
I am convinced that it is in your best interest to prevent the disclosure of this information, given the potential consequences. Therefore, I propose the following solution: transfer $500 USD to my Bitcoin wallet (details provided below), based on the exchange rate at the time of the transaction. After the transfer is completed, all compromising information will be immediately deleted. After this, I will deactivate and remove the malicious software from your devices.
You can be assured that I will uphold my end of the agreement.
Bitcoin wallet: bc1q8zd02ftvhmkpusxpxdruxy3jnsr0k3ecg2m3lz
You have 48 hours. As soon as you open this email, I will receive a notification, and from that moment on, the countdown begins.
If you've never dealt with cryptocurrencies before, it's quite simple. Just type "cryptocurrency exchange" into a search engine, and you're good to go.
Please refrain from the following actions:
• Replying to this email, as it was created in your mailbox and contains the sender's address.
• Contacting the police or other security services. Discussing this situation with friends may lead to immediate public disclosure of the videos.
• Attempting to identify me. All cryptocurrency transactions are anonymous.
• Reinstalling the operating system or disposing of devices, as the videos are already stored on remote servers.
You need not worry about the following:
• Receiving your funds transfer. My malicious program continuously monitors your actions.
• Disseminating your videos after the funds transfer is completed. I have no intention of complicating your life further.
Finally, I strongly advise you to avoid similar situations in the future. Regularly change all your passwords to enhance online security."

What should I tell him?

Must He be worried or forget this message?

He uses a Mac, this could be what He need to change tu puppy.

The craker has blocked his instagram account and he is doing pishing using his account.

I hate this people, they are destroing the net.

Suggestions are welcome.

Cheers.

Yes, terrible !!
I've received similar emails, and I'm convinced that they are just trying to catch you on something you didn't do, to get the money paid, it often is nothing but bluff poker IMHO.

Yeah, that is what I told him, the problem is he (the cracker) knows his instagran password and he changed the mail, password and phone so he cant recover his account.

Knowing the pass, make me think the cracker had bought it in the dark net.

Thanks for your answer, I took a screenshot and I sent it to him to make him feel better.

Thanks @fredx181

@pp4mnklinux Wait! I believe this to be a bluff, a hoax or call it fake. I have some experience dealing with dark side pseudo hackers and this is a common almost a chain mail form letter. I advise to do nothing but delete the email.

How is the Instagram account "blocked" has the hacker taken control by changing the password? More than likely (98%) this hacker is talking a big game and none of it is really true, and it is also most likely he/she/it does not have access to the email account that account recovery is linked with, no matter what they say.

I have had several copies of this email almost exactly the same. This email is part of the concept of throwing the pot of spaghetti against the wall and see what sticks.

Delete it don't mess with it or any attachments or links with or in it. Just delete and have nice cold refreshment.

A couple of years ago I got several of these in a short space of time. All quoting the same password, which I recognised as one I had used, but not current and not for anything important. Anyway, it was all obviously a load of b*ll*cks so I took no notice. Several people had bought the same info (email and ancient password) and were trying the same trick.

Before I forget, never buy stuff from Temu, not to mention install their app.
Wi-Fi's BFF said her credit card was used more than $1K (in regard to Temu).
As a rule of thumb, have 0 trust in anything comes from China.

Thanks 4 your answers.

I have the same oppinion as you, but what makes it "real" is that the hacker had gain access to my friend instagram account, and he is posting using it.

This control is what makes my friend worried.

He can't access to the instagram account and he cant recover the password because the cracker has changed the recovery mail an phone linked to my friend instagram account.

This modifications and post make my friend think all this is real.

Any solution?

How can I know what this cracker can do or not?

Thanks

@pp4mnklinux

Assuming your friend is in the UK.

1. Don't click on (if any) links in the e-mail
.
2. Go to:

https://www.actionfraud.police.uk/scam-emails

to report the scam e-mail.
.
3. Get in touch with Instagram to notify them the account has been compromised. Ask them to reset and return the account.
.
4. Go here for malware removal software for MAC.

https://duckduckgo.com/?t=ffab&q=remove ... mac&ia=web
.
5. Get in touch with his bank to make them aware and check to see if any unauthorised transactions have taken place.
.
Good luck.

Is it possible to access a "Forget Password" request on Instagram?

This happened to me on Facebook a long time ago....but I was quick and requested a password change and me having access to my email I used to register and the hacker didn't, I was able to use the password reset function to change the password again and put the account out of control of the hacker and back into my hands.

Right under his/her/they's nose....!!! He he he, they'll have to cough up more $$ or ruble or whatever because the passwords they seem to get are all old ones long no longer used.

One time I took unfair advantage of a scam group by pretending to let them remotely connect to my "Windows" machine which was in reality a VirtualBox virtual machine being run by a Puppy Linux using a bridged network with the VM. Once they were in my isolated "Windows" VM they now have an open listening port on their end and my Puppy knows it........which I used to inject about 500 million one byte packets using a packet flooder designed and programed by someone good at it who also happens to be a good friend. Took out the machine on the other end and never heard from them again.

I do not recommend such actions nor endorse or condone such malicious computer combat.

Thanks everybody for your help.

He is going to follow @Chelsea80 procedure. I hope he can solve this problem.

We can talk a lot about this situation and how to prevent it, but there are a lot of forums with instructions and suggestions on the net.- It is possible one day (when I have got enought time) I design a site with instructions about what to do and not to do.... but there will be always "a hole in the wall".

Have a nice day u all.- Cheers
