How would I make a .deb file for scrcpy?

Post by dancytron »

How would I go about making a .deb file for scrcpy (or any other easy to compile from source with a provided script) program?

Here are the instructions I wrote to compile it and install it in place, which is basically follow the instructions and delete sudo in a few places.

Here is how OscarTalks made a pet for it, which seemed a lot more involved that the default debian way would be.

It really does make the $32 Chromebook to be able to use it as a pretty seamless thin client for android phones.

I have a DD Bookworm .squashfs file I made of the save folder with just the stuff from compiling the install and a .txt file of the install copied from the terminal.

If your distro your using includes pkg then there is an option using it the is dir2deb. Converts the directory into a .deb package. Similar to the utility that does dir2pet.

Might be a stand alone version of this tool around on one of these forums.
