Hello, I'm a Puppy Newbie and I use the BionicPup32 19.03 Linux 4.19.277 which installed on an USB drive. See attached snapshot("Original UI") of its desktop. Few days ago I got a system UPGRADE message while I was doing reboot . I selected "yes" to upgrade the system then I got a new look of desktop as shown in attached picture("Upgraded UI"). After few days use I do like the upgraded system and its UI so I want to do the same UPGRADE on another drive. However, I don't know how to make the upgrade message appear during the rebooting. I am sure I didn't download anything for the upgrade and didn't even know the system can be upgraded at that time. Could somebody help me? Thank you in advance!

Not 100 percent sure, since I don't run Bionic, but I do run ScPup32 from peebee...if it's the same, look in the applications menu at
lower left, then scroll up to "System", there should be an "Upgrade/update" application in there.

Rather than Upgrade your version, I suggest you consider replacing it. The original version was first published in June 2020, https://oldforum.puppylinux.com/viewtop ... 33#p989997 and by now has challenges. If you want to stick with Bionic, you could try ozsouth's recent remaster, https://www.forum.puppylinux.com/viewtopic.php?t=10650,
However, if your computer limits you to a 32-bit operating system, you may want to try some newer Puppys. See this thread for possibilities. https://www.forum.puppylinux.com/viewto ... 47#p100547. If I were just beginning with Puppy Linux, wizard's Friendly-Jammy would be my first choice, viewtopic.php?p=104015#p104015.
But before deciding, keep this in mind. Even if your computer only came with the 32-bit version of Windows, chances are it can actually run 64-bit Linux operating systems. Most computers manufactured in the last 20 years can. It's getting increasingly difficult to obtain 32-bit Web-browsers that will be allowed access to all web-sites. 64Bit Systems require more RAM than 32-bit systems; but not all that much and additional RAM at low price can usually be installed. I recommend that you provide us with specifics about your computer (Menu>System>Pup-SysInfo; or if not already present https://www.forum.puppylinux.com/viewtopic.php?t=3557) and seek recommendations.

Yes, there is an "System Update" application in the menu. I will give a try to see if it works. Thank you so much!

Thank you so much for your great suggestion! I will definitely give a try on different systems. I think my old laptop is able to support a 64bit system. It has a intel dual core cpu @ 1.60ghz, 4gb ram. You are right it is hard to get 32-bit Web-browsers nowadys. The Ulight browser (FF 48) on the Bionicpup32 is really sucks. The reason I use it is because it is a very lightweight system and can be installed on a small usb drive which is very portable.
