like it...maybe straighten the Z a bit. Otherwise a good logo
Late to the party but this looks fun.
Just a rough concept (sorry no graphics skills here to make it pretty...)
.
.
Also this but I cant display svg:
.
In regards to the upper "Z" bar - do you mean straighter or staight
as in horizontal?
I'll play with it some more, and yes, the original is svg.

I reckon "straighter" as in less like the number "2".
Modified the "Z" and added a very light outline to the whole thing,
in case you have a very dark background.
Renamed the extension of the svg to gvs. As far as I can remember
there is a problem with svg attachments, could be wrong. Just rename
it back to svg. Had to change it to zip .... gvs don't work either .

Yes, that's better with the alteration to the 'Z'. Very nice.

Just append a false ".gz" onto the end of the svg file.
".gz" that's what it was. I think I went through that before.
Maybe need to post svgs more often .
@TerryH Thanks for the Kudos, glad you like it.
@Misaligned
Thanks very much for creating that.
I might put a "toe in the water" and create a new initial-bootup splash screen with that logo, replacing the cartoon face with thumb-up. For Easy 4.5.1, so we can see what it looks like in actual use.
You are welcome.
Yeapp, just give it a shot, don't get your toe too wet
Your free to use it, no strings attached.
OK, 4.5.1 released, with the logo in the bootup screen.
I took off the white rim, as it didn't look right to me on a black background.
This is the png image used in the bootup screen in the initrd, size 1920x1080:
4.5.1 announced here:
scsijon posted in the 4.5.1 release thread, that "ezos" is too similar to some other projects.
I did a quick search, yes, there is a Linux distribution named ezos on sourceforge.
duplicate post.
Looked for EZOS on sourceforge. Looks to me like that the guy's name is "ezoz".
He calls his distro Ezarcher (based on Arch Linux).
Maybe I am missing something. Didn't download and test it. Unfortunately
no screenshots.
This guy:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/ezos/
He has released ezarcher and eznixos
...yeah, so its the guys name, not the Linux name.
this is ezos.hosting, but that isn't linux:

This looks like Japanese:

They are German actually, and is a reseller for small businesses to have their own websites, they have their own staff to manage, help, setup sites for those that need it to be done for them.
I wasn't actually commenting on the name, I had researched and discarded them, but I was concerned in what the screen looks like when first booting up, sorry if i didn't make it clear enough.
My daughter suggested a doggy in the logo to show Puppy-heritage, relaxing somewhere to show life is easy -- like at the beach, and looking real cool with sunglasses, maybe sipping on a drink.
Played around a bit with the beach idea. Decided it looked a bit too cluttered, as has to look good at all sizes down to 48x48 pixels.
Played with something very simple, cool doggy wearing sunglasses:
Don't know, just playing.
I decided to go with the doggy wearing sunglasses, for the upcoming Kirkstone-series.
The one in a circle. I have tweaked it a bit more, but it is basically the same as posted above.
EDIT:
Didn't.
Easy 5.0 still has the old logo.
Here is another proposed logo.
On the old forum, there were some logos designed for Wary Puppy; I think 'afgs' created this one:
That is a good story; a little doggy looking out from a secure place. That can apply to easyOS also; the little doggy showing Puppy heritage, the secure place being containers. So, I created this:
hmmm, tried to drag and drop it, get "http error"
Trying again, I created an svg image in inkscape, here it is exported as 128x128 png;
The problem before was the file had permissions 600, so could only be read by root user.
Definitely better than the cartoon face with the thumbs-up!
@BarryK This one is really good. I understood the meaning right away and it's catchy and comforting.
Need to see it in action and how it looks!!
Yeah, that's nice... I like it too!
Hi:
This model is not for the logo (it's very overcharged to work as it) but it's a nice profile... I think.
Have a nice day u all.
Cheers.

My proposal.
1. Easy OS, as Easy as a Circle
2. Transparent (the logo background takes the colour of the picture it was placed on)
3. Useful
4. It includes Barry's design
At the beggining, the logo could be used with the name of the os (Easy OS), but when it will be well know, this letters can be easy deleted from the logo, to make it smaller in size.

Just in case you wanna improve it.-
The japanese circle.
The Japanese word for circle is enso. It is a universal expression of wholeness that lives deep in our beings. The making of a circle with one brushstroke is a calligraphic practice of bringing that wholeness forth, through the gesture of the body, into form on the page.
The new logo is great, now formally adopted:
"New logo for EasyOS"
https://bkhome.org/news/202303/new-logo-for-easyos.html
Now there is this cute little logo, now thinking about a name change.
"EasyOS" has been criticized as not always easy.
It strives to be easy, but the ambitious features may not be as intuitive to use as desired.
The name should match the logo. "WaryOS" matches the logo, little doggy looking out warily from a safe place.
Though, there is this comment from kinoe:
Googling the meaning of "wary":
feeling or showing caution about possible dangers or problems.
"dogs which have been mistreated often remain very wary of strangers"
Cambridge dictionary:
not completely trusting or certain about something or someone
Very interesting:
"wary" in Belarusian means "balls"
Filipino, means "worried"
Polish, means "vary"
Ukranian, means "layers"
What I want to aim for in woofQ, the EasyOS distro builder, is make the name a variable, so anyone can use woofQ to build a distro with their own name. Plan to start work on that this evening.
One reason I like "WaryOS" is because it implies caution, but isn't very specific.
A name like "SafeOS" implies an OS designed all-out for safety, which would pit it against some heavy-weight distros that make security their main thing.
@BarryK I am leaning towards WaryOS.... but wonder if used like "I'm wary of using WaryOS" it would be a thing.
same here, "I'm worried of using WaryOS"...
Wary is nice, less generic than easy, and speaks towards the focus on security enhancements
