Is that failure for both Scarthgap and Daedalus?

Yes, I retested a few minutes ago, and both Scarthgap and Daedalus report 'no default controller available'.
I checked my laptop's bios to confirm BT activation, and I also sent an image to my phone by BT, from the same laptop, using EasyPup 2.5.1, so there's no any technical issues with the laptop.
The funny thing is, that I used the EasyPup's Network menu entry 'BluetoothSendto' to send that image, without activating the BT beforhand. When I attempt to use the BluePup Bluetooth activation management, it says it is paired to the phone, but the log says it isn't connected. When I try to send a file to the phone from the management window, a message pops up: 'connect error: Connection refused (111)'.
There is a 'BluetoothSendto' entry in the Scarthgap's Network menu, but it did not find the phone. There is no 'BluetoothSendto' in Daedalus, neither as a menu entry, nor a command.

I think you should post the output of the lspci command for your laptop, because the problem looks to be only related to your hardware.
Furthermore, did you already try to install the iwlwifi firmware package and restart the system?

Federico, thank you for your suggestions, but I doubt the hardware is a problem. The laptop with 5 different EasyOS and Puppys, is running by wifi from my router, I can send a file using BlueTooth from the earlier version of BluePup (5.50 if I remember correct) in EasyPup. The command lspci only list the default Dell controllers, it can unfortunately not report any faults. I think the problem is related to the Bluetooth software, or eventual mistakes I have made in my settings or preferences.

Hmm yes, I also report this problem. Can you connect to wireless headphones? It looks like with version 6.5 it is even possible to connect and stream audio via BT, but for some reason data transfers from and to smartpgones don't work anymore. The coupling with the phones works, but when you press the send file button you always get the message saying that an error has occurred. May this be a translation problem (I'm using the german locale)? Which locale are you using for the system?

So, summerizing:

- On both Easy Scarthgap and Daedalus 6.5 there are no problems with using wireless BlueTooth audio devices
- On both Easy Scarthgap and Daedalus 6.5 it is no more possible to send / receive data to / from a smartphone
- On Scarthgap 6.5 with Bluez 5.62 I can couple (and the phone also couples) but when I try to send anything I get immediately an error has occurred
- On Daedalus 6.5 with Bluez 5.66 I cannot even couple: the laptop couples and is ready to send files, but the phone does not and keeps on saying that it cannot couple because an error has occurred

Yes, file transfer via BT used to work and now it looks like it does no more. I'm using the german locale.
However, something about this should also be said because who's still using BT for file transfer nowadays, if so many apps for Wi-Fi file transfer (which is faster) are available?
