Okay so just for the hell of it I went ahead and installed 6.4.1 Daedalus onto internal hard drive and it seems to work well with one exception.

When using Chromium to stream Youtube videos that works okay until I open another browser on a different desktop or anywhere for that matter and the web page I'm streaming closes and I know that ain't right.

Only does it on Chromium browser seems I've had this issue before when using Google Chrome and that's a deal killer for me using Chromium and anything Google Chrome related.

I don't open multiple tabs as ya accidentally close one tab ya kill them all so I open a whole new browser.

This is why I prefer Firefox just seems to work better for me.

Okay just though I'd pass that on.

Have a good day all.

Update

Okay so I installed Google Chrome from the menu and it does the same as the Chromium browser.

I don't get it on other versions of Easy OS the default Chromium lets me open as many browser windows as I want and now on the latest version of Easy OS if I open another browser window it closes the previous browser window.

That doesn't happen when I use one open browser window and than use the tad + to open as many additional windows as I want and it's the same using Google Chrome.

I understand that Google Chrome and Chromium seem to have the money market share but I fail to see why most users seem to prefer Google Chrome and or Chromium browsers over Firefox just curious to know why.

Have a good day.
Thanks.

I have created a Japanese language pack for easy daedalus.
It includes a Japanese input system, a few Japanese fonts, and translations of apps.

It also includes a script to restore the settings of the Japanese input system when /root/.xinitrc is initialized after sfs layer changes.

The topic in the Japanese forum

I tested the opening of chromium with terminals. When the 2nd chromium opens, the first closes.

With ungoogled chromium no problem at first glance

Maybe related to the version
chromium is version 128.0.6613.84-1 (EDIT : WRONG see https://www.forum.puppylinux.com/viewto ... 56#p134756)
ungoogled chromium is version 130.0.6723.69

Oh well Google Chrome and Chromium just don't want to work the way they should work and used to work.

I'll just use Firefox until Google Chrome and Chromium get their act together.

As for ungoogled chromium forget it doesn't work on certain websites I visit.

I'm trying to get along with the OOTB default browsers but they're just no good for what I need which Google anything has always been that way for my use and it doesn't appear to have changed always problematic.

Guess I'll check out portable browsers and see how they work out.

Oh well it ain't the end of the world.

Have a good day or night wherever you are at.

Thanks.

That is what I built easy daedalus with, in the devuan "security" repository.
That older version is in the devuan "main" repo, which I didn't use.

Hello.

The commands glxinfo and glxgears are not found, and they are named glxinfo.x86_64-linux-gnu and glxgears.x86_64-linux-gnu respectively.

So, hardinfo cannot display the information about OpenGL.

Yes, but Scarthgap has the same /usr/bin/chromium script, with that same line 99, and there is no problem. Starting chromium in another desktop does not kill the original.

Yes, but Scarthgap has the same /usr/bin/chromium script, with that same line 99, and there is no problem. Starting chromium in another desktop does not kill the original.

In Scarthgap the executable is chromium-bin, in Daedalus it's chromium

See the directory /usr/lib/chromium in each version
