A newer version of SNS (Simple Network Setup)

Post by amethyst »

I made a .pet for this (ripped from Jammy32, released in June 2023). This is useful for older Puppys to connect to especially hidden (also WPA2) wifi connections using this tool. Tested with Fossa9.5 and Bionic32. Very easy to use in comparison to setting up Network Wizard (Dougal's).

There is ongoing development of SNS. Check https://forum.puppylinux.com/viewtopic.php?t=445 for any newer updates/releases.

Re: Upgraded version of SNS (Simple Network Setup)

Does this include the recent changes that @BarryK has been making to SNS?

Beneficial changes should be proposed to the version of SNS in WoofCE on Github .............. @rerwin has taken the initiative for this in the recent past.

A bit of coordination would be desirable......

Builder of LxPups, SPups, UPup32s, VoidPups; LXDE, LXQt, Xfce addons; Chromium, Firefox etc. sfs; & Kernels

No idea, didn't work on it myself. Merely ripped it from your Jammy32 (released in June this year, I think) and just made a pet which could be useful for users of older puppys (very useful for me, works well).

Ok - thanks - understood - this pet is therefore the current version of SNS as held on Woof-CE Github:

For your information, rerwin is currently working on SNS. He has incorporated some of my changes.
He will probably be committing to woofCE soon.

NOTE:
This is a single pet package of SNS at a specific point of development.

This is the topic where development of SNS is being done. The very latest version is going to be found there.

Wasn't aware of rerwin's posts on the forum and his involvement. Either way use it or lose it...or delete this topic. I'll leave it for now, seems to have created a bit of a stir. :P
