Kvantum a Qt5 theme engine

Post by step »

Kvantum is a theme engine for Qt applications. It changes the look of Qt5 applications (only Qt5 - not GTK+). This theme engine is now available in the Fatdog64-900 SFS repository.

Instructions

To setup the extra theme engine do this once:

- Start SFS Manager from Control Panel > System
- Download and load Kvantum (enable loading for the nex
- - Select kvantum in the list
- - Click Download selected ... downloading ... Do not close the result dialog
- - In the download result dialog, enable "Check this box to load this SFS at every boot" and click Yes
- Create file /etc/profile.d/lxqt-style.sh with the following content:

Code: Select all

# Requires Kvantum SFS
# Pre-load it from Control Panel > System > SFS Manager
# See also: https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/468709
export QT_STYLE_OVERRIDE=kvantum

- Save the file and enable its executable permissions.
- Changes will take effect after the next reboot.

To use Kvantum manager to select different themes, launch Kvantum manager from Fatdog64 icon menu, Desktop > Kvantum Manager and set the current theme to one of your liking. My current theme - the one in my previous screenshot - is KvMojaveLight.

To uninstall Kvantum and go back to the default application look:
- Exit Kvantum Manager and all Qt Applications
- Start Control Panel > System > System SFS Loader
- Select Kvantum in the right column and click Remove; confirm the prompts, if any.
