Unable to print large .doc text files; what to do?

Post by boof »

CUPS-2.3.1 Dell optilux 3060 8gb bro 2250DN i have several 17+page .doc text files, which cups cannot fully process , so it cant print them at all. no option to print when page is ready. i assume a .txt file would be smallest type, and process more fully. is an odt file between their sizes? what else is there, that's small, pls.

Can you split the 17-page files into smaller files with fewer pages? Print the smaller files separately, then combine their pages.

thanks, that was simple to fix, just wonder why i have to do it? lack of memory-swapfile too small, or do i need to reserve some space just for the printer? i print up to 40 pages in reverse order at times in a 12pt font, droid sans mono. plus any included greyscale 600doi images.
