Film: The Pine Barrens of New Jersey

Post by mikeslr »

The following is a shameless plug. David S. Kessler is my youngest son, an award winning artist, https://www.davidskessler.work/about. His film, The Pine Barrens, can now be viewed on Amazon Prime, https://www.amazon.com/Pine-Barrens-All ... B0B6W8KDBL

You could spend weeks there and not achieve as great an appreciation as you will by experiencing the Pine Barrens, the land and people, through his eyes. Kayak a gentle stream on a summer day. Meander an almost forgotten path. But be aware this is a land of fire. Seasonal fires prepare the forest for the next generation. Campfires are where friends remember who they are, and why; and that beyond whose glow The Jersey Devil may lurk. But the most important fire of all is the passion of the people to preserve this land and their ways of life. Time and again, Mega-Business --thinking only of the next bottom-line-- has been burned; and politicians --seeking to rationalize their breach of past promises-- have been bedeviled. Haunting score by The Ruins of Friendship Orchestra.

The Trailer is free, but not the film. Not even for me. It can be rented or purchased. David will receive little of the proceeds: most go to Amazon and the distributor. But good ratings may help David in his future endeavors. Only those who view the film can rate and review it.

It might be easier to view an early version of the Trailer here, https://vimeo.com/381935262 as well as some of his earlier short films. One of my favorites is "World Champion", https://vimeo.com/209545. It's quite amazing how much he captured in about two minutes. You'll need a decent internet connection --or patience while it downloads-- to view "I Fell in Love with a Feeling", https://vimeo.com/63380131
