Problem using Woof-CE (SOLVED)

Post by bert07 »

I experience a problem, of which I think it is a woof-CE problem.
I notice that many new build does not use the original icon lay-out anymore;
That is fine for those who like it.
But when I change it back to puppy-original, it appears that the icon in the upper left corner the file- or the directory-icon just is not there.
Of course: when you use another icon-layout for the distro, one does not notice it. but I prefer the classic original layout.
Can someone please check out the woof-CE building program regarding the traditional icon-set? The bug is in many Distro's so that's why I think it is in thze woof-CE building program.
Thank you.

See if this pet is giving you what you want.

The things you do not tell us, are usually the clue to fixing the problem.
When I was a kid, I wanted to be older.
This is not what I expected :o

You'll get the traditional icon layout if:
1. pTheme is enabled and you chose a global theme that uses the "Puppy Standard" layout
or
2. pTheme is disabled, because the default is the traditional layout

The pet-package didn't bring the correct solution.
But I'll upload some screenshots.
The first 3 screenshots are of jammypup32, and you'll see that the file "home.svg" just is not there.
The 4th screenshot is from fossapup64, where you can see that the file points to a completely different icon.

I'll upload some more screenshots.

First one S15Pup64.
As you can see the icon where it points to does not exist.

VanillaPup64 points to the correct icon, but one needs to get the top bar out of the way.

The same with VoidPup64.
Correct icon, but the top bar needs to be adjusted.

The issues here are easily corrected when you know your way around a puppy.
At that point: no problem. One just has to correct some stuff.
On the other hand: If you do not know your way around a puppy: this is a frustrating issue that shouldn't be there in the first place.
An icon pointing to a wrong and non-existent icon + the original standard icon lay-out that is not shown correctly, The above panel shouldn't be there either.
All this can be altered, that is no problem.
The problem is that the problem is just there.

Thanks for alerting me to this - it's not a Woof-CE problem - it's a problem with my builds which I now know how to fix - this will happen progressively over time as new versions are made.

Cheers

Thanks peebee.
BTW: I do not use a top panel, just the original puppy lay-out. I always need to remove that top panel.
In some cases: have to remove the bottom panel, and move the top panel to bottom.
In a classic puppy lay-out, one does not need a second panel. everything you need is on the desktop.
