Hi, Barry.
You`re still using Limine 3.25 and not the new Limine 4.2022series.
Best regards,
Reynaldo
Hi,
I was on EasyOS 4.4 with a crypted work partition (frugal install) : i made the update to 4.4.1 but now my password is no more recognize !
Is there a way to solve this ?
Thank you,
Philippe
It's very strange : i booted around 4 or 5 times with no success with my password and this time it's ok !
Hi Philippe
if you can boot with a different linux, you can navigate to your easy-working-partition/dunfell/releases and rename easy-4.4.1
not sure if you just want to roll back or need to save a some work?
I have had problems with passwords and updates on some machines also. With me the problem is intermittent and I am not able to reproduce it enough to report as a bug. Interesting multiple boots makes it work
Thank you williwaw for your answer.
I just want to get easy to work and i don't know why it works after some boots...
I try to rename the folder, just to see how it works.
Thank you,
Philippe
I just tried to rename the folder as you said, from a puppy, but the folder is crypted, like some others, and i can't do anthing.
I have no more problem but it's just to learn.

from repository before my stylus pen is recognized properly for pressure.

I made an audacity audio editor SFS package but could only get it to run as 'Main' not container.
Not sure why???

Another problem with dir2sfs script...
If the package already exists an append operation is done which destroys the inside of package.
Maybe the solution is to use mksquashfs with noappend option,
however what I did was to delete old file with same name.

Hmmm, that is very strange. I checked that the latest was installed before building 4.4.1.
Oh well, better luck next time.

You may try checking again by going to the Limine console:
>version
mine is
>3.25
Maybe yours is different..

xf86-input-wacom is in EasyOS. I checked the package and yes, all of its files are installed.
I presume that you updated to 4.4.1 -- it seems that you have something that is blocking the files of the package. Try booting a pristine 4.4.1.
Hi Barry,
The BOOT64.EFI (180kB) of Limine 3.20220928.0 that you used in EasyOS 4.4.1 does not work with my Fujitsu--still hangs.
But the BOOT64.EFI (168kB) of Limine 4.20220928.0 works!
I Did a software update from Dunfell 4.3.3 to 4.4.1 (4.3.3 ->4.3.4 ->4.4 ->4.4.1) on my old Lenovo ThinkCentre BIOS PC. Looking good!

I just recently downloaded the latest Limine 3.20221011.0`s BOOTX64.efi (192kB) and over write EasyOS 4.4.1`s BOOTX64.efi, now it works!

I checked in 4.4.1 and the wacom driver is definitely installed.
I can see it (see image)
It's hard to spot but I it's there.
I just need to choose it and boot up machine again.
However with other distros it is automatically loaded and recognized.
Perhaps Easy OS is worried about security??

don570,
Thanks for reporting that.
Yes, the kernel module should load automatically.
I have made a note in the to-do list to try and figure out why it isn't.
@don570
Would you mind trying some experiments...
Remove the wacom module, if loaded:
Code: Select all
# modprobe -r wacom
...if fails to unload, remove it from the load-list and reboot.
Try this to see if wacom module gets loaded:
Code: Select all
# udevadm trigger --action=add --attr-nomatch=driver --type=subsystems
# lsmod | grep wacom
If not, try this:
Code: Select all
# udevadm trigger --action=add --attr-nomatch=driver --type=devices
# lsmod | grep wacom
If not, try this:
Code: Select all
# udevadm trigger --action=add --type=devices
# lsmod | grep wacom
Seems file go some where.
Downloaded files do not show in Files/Downloads but appear in the download dialog.
Also screen capture images show in Files/media/Images but do not show when trying to upload the files to net.
Overall, EASY Os beats http://berry.osdn.jp/. Gave up install of the Japanese linux.
Small problems okay.
I am confused by what you are reporting.
Are you running firefox in a container?
In that case, you can download to /files/downloads, but that is inside the container.
You need to download to /files/shared in a container, then the file will be in /files/shared on the main desktop.
Alternatively, from the main desktop go to /mnt/wkg/containers/www/container, and you can access all files inside the container.
Ditto for the other containers.
The containerized app has to be running to see any contents in that 'container' folder.
re wacom driver
http://forum.puppylinux.com/viewtopic.p ... 2d1#p69632
I think I forgot to report my findings with regard to wacom...
Wacom driver is definitely installed and using your boot utility I can scroll down list of unused drivers and
select it .
I guess I can use depmod command.
Code: Select all
#depmod
#modprobe wacom
But I just boot up again and the driver is recognized by graphics apps.
It would be nice if the driver was automatically loaded. Somehow the other linux
distros load the driver automatically thus avoiding the above hassle.

Blender app is strange.
Both SFS and appimage versions..
There is no complaints when launching from terminal, so it seems fine,
but there are some operations like subdivision and making a material that are buggy or even cause a crash.
I never have this problem in fatdog64.
