"Reaper"-portables : 32- and 64-bit builds of the classic DAW....

Post by mikewalsh »

Afternoon, gang.

While I'm on the subject of digital audio workstations, here's a couple more that I built ages ago and never got around to sharing; self-contained, "portable" builds of the classic,

Reaper.

This is v6.53; the current build from around a fortnight ago. As with so many other apps, it lends itself to the portable treatment because everything's in a single directory...

-------------------------------

Like with LMMS, which I "portabilized" around 2 years ago, but only shared earlier today, I occasionally play around with this, too. I'm certainly no guru with any of these DAWS, and only tinker a bit now & then.....but the 'experts' among you will understand them far better than I do.

Those of you who do use such items even semi-regularly will know all about the nature of the semi-permanent Reaper 60-day "free trial" period, and how to 'activate' it.....along with the workaround for keeping it going!

------------------------------

For anyone who's interested, you can find Reaper-portable here:-

32-bit portable:- https://mega.nz/folder/yepCjJCB#d2JwrBFscywbdevJ6oiHcw
64-bit portable:- https://mega.nz/folder/nLpk0a6I#mhUZctyA2vzpW4cE3E2QoA

D'l; unzip; move the resulting directory anywhere you like.....outside the 'save'. Click to enter, click 'LAUNCH' to fire-it up. Scripts will add or remove a Menu entry, should one be required.

Have fun with it!

Mike. ;)
