Binge issue & partial fix

Post by ozsouth »

I recently subscribed to Aussie streaming service Binge & found under Chrome it errored
"InvalidStateError - Failed to execute update on MediaKeySession" - seems like a DRM issue.
I got the latest Firefox-ESR-alsa from Debian, puppified it & added this extension:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... -on-linux/
This allowed me to play content files but not live channels.
On my Chromebook & Android TV it all works.

.pet for my current 64bit firefox-esr here: http://forum.puppylinux.com/viewtopic.p ... 132#p39132

Is this the Firefox addon you're using?

I don't have binge, (using attacker.tv) so cannot test it out.

@p310don - sorry, didn't express myself very well in first post (have made corrections). Yes that is the addon I tried.
Binge offers stored content & live channels. The former works with this addon, but not the latter. Tried fossapup64, but
got furthest with ScPup64.

Talk about having to stand on your heading singing 'I'm a teapot' -
I found a further fix for watching all of Binge oz streaming site:

Running ScPup64-20.06.
I loaded my firefox-esr-alsa .pet (is in browsers part of forum)
I installed apulse from fossapup64, after deleting ScPup64 one
I installed the binge addon (posted above)
I enabled DRM
I ran apulse firefox-esr. THEN ONLY everything worked.
All other combos of firefoxes/plugins/settings failed.

Also now gets me access to talky.io - with mic & camera.
Meanwhile my Chromebook just does these things OOTB.
