Been hunting high and low in order to make Trelby work on my BionicPup64 ...
Is the screenplay software way too old for BP64 that no longer has python-wxgtk2.8 & python-lxml?
Thank you in advance!

I'll see if I can get it to run. I'm a Gaffer from film and television, and I can for one, attest to the importance of a decent screenplay.......

And if you do not want to write, but to visualize your story, then Storyboarder
Here in the AppImage format.
Fossapup OS, Ryzen 5 3600 CPU, 64 GB RAM, GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4 GB, Sound Blaster Audigy Rx with amplifier + Yamaha speakers for loud sound, USB Sound Blaster X-Fi Surround 5.1 Pro V3 + headphones for quiet sound.

First is to make sure the python is version 2.7 or around there. You might need to load the devx.sfs for Bionic to have the tools you'll need.
Also pip may not be installed, in that case using the PPM (update it first), install python-pip.
I made a symlink to the python 2.7 pip tool and called it pip2, although it is not necessary if there is no python3-pip.
perform these 2 operations:
Code: Select all
pip2 install wxPython
pip2 install lxml
That lead me to this error when starting: The libraries are really old and I did compile one but it still will not work.

Re: Trelby on BionicPup64 anyone?
Maybe this will work for you.
https://kitscenarist.ru/en/index.html
This is appimage and it runs in Bionicpup64 8.0
https://download.opensuse.org/repositor ... 4.AppImage
Note:
You have to give the kitscenarist-latest-x86_64.AppImage exec permissions to run it.
(that is appimage security feature. They download with no exec permissions, so they cannot auto run)
Right click on it and select properties. Check all the exec options and refresh.
Left click on kitscenarist-latest-x86_64.AppImage file to run it.
It has about a 8 to 10 second delay, before it opens.
.
The things you do not tell us, are usually the clue to fixing the problem.
When I was a kid, I wanted to be older.
This is not what I expected

Screen Writing Applications
As this thread has mentioned and provided links to applications other than Trelby, and as not everyone make know what Trelby is designed to do, I've used a generic title to make it easier to find.
I can confirm that kitscenarist per Bigpup's link, albeit to an AppImage on the opensuse repo, runs OOTB under Bionicpup64.
By the way, Trelby 2.2 runs OOTB under Wine.
