This can be useful if you have a RAM challenged machine as it may prevent a system lock up. I remember using it on an older machine long time ago. Used to run it every hour or so when watching HD videos. Typically useful when running in RAM mode.

Sounds about right. It's the same command I found over at BlackmoreOps.com the other week, when I was researching how to build DriveSpeed!
In that instance it's used to clear the drive buffers between test 'runs' in order to get a correct, clean reading.
Multi-useful.....as are so many things in Linux.

So, basically it is useless for pc with 8 or more GB of RAM?

CleanRam_0.2 can be found here as a .pet, and it converts via pet2sfs into a .sfs which runs happily on 32 and 64 bit Puppy OSs, in my wxperience. Wouldn't be without it, especially when running graphics/wine programs on 4GB Ram computers.

Well, it depends on what you are running. Could still be useful even if you have 8 GB.
