I am considering a configuration external device that is Thunderbolt3 (TB3).
I have read that TB3 and USB-C cables are interchangable.
As I understand that TB3 cable can "work" thru a USB-C port, I am curious if a TB3 device will work to a USB-C port on my PC?
Help or advice is requested.
BTW: I've just discovered one problem that many may also been not understanding. I have always read of backward compatibility of USB devices: Never knew of cabling incompatibility that leads to device-system peformance. (I must now find and label all of my USB cables)
Edit:
It appears that you can connect a USB-C cabled device(s) to a Thunderbolt port and it will work.
It appears that a Thunderbolt device WILL NOT OPERATE on a USB-C port. Edit: This appears to NOT be entirely accurate (see next post).
Additional Info:
A USB-C port as well as a Thunderbolt port can work with "switch/hub units" allowing multiple devices to connect to a single port.
