right now puppylinux.com is redirecting to puppylinux-woof-ce.github.io. The redirect can be removed.

We will keep puppylinux.com opening something separate from forum.puppylinux.com

I see no need for a forum landing page.

All it is going to be is something I will have to wast time reading and click on to actually get to the real forum.

The recent changes to the forum layout was all the forum really needed.

I am looking to see the Puppy forum and do not need to first see a landing page, that tells me how to get to it, by clicking on this or that.

Hi @bigpup

Wasn't the landing page intended for new visitors/users?

Experienced users like you certainly don't need it.

peace

No, because Puppy Linux is a separate distribution in its own right so has its own website, which may or may not, but likely would, have a simple link to its section on the forum.

Other forum distros have or likely will have their own website home pages.

Just my opinion:
maybe good idea to put "Newest Posts section" on very top of the page, so the visiter doesnt need to go through all the way from top to bottom and also to avoid hidden recent posting because anybody else put another topic on the same section.

But I guess someone thinks we need this:

Example:
https://ubuntuforums.org/

The forum right now is better than this:

The Puppy forum has all the main sections, their sub sections, and their sub sections all listed and clickable to access from the first page that displays.

Sure seems easier to find something to me.

The things you do not tell us, are usually the clue to fixing the problem.
When I was a kid, I wanted to be older.
This is not what I expected :o

Not being a web developer, I offer an "idea" that others may have already thought of.

I consider my idea as good, yet stupid. Good because it brings value. Yet stupid because it requires some way to contribute in a meaningful manner from the member community in an ongoing basis about noteworthy developments in the forum, which I have not sorted out in practice.

The "idea"
A new standalone section (aka "a row") added on the main page titled "News". This has many advantages to members as well as seekers and reviewers who are not members. I think most of us can understand the potential benefit to the overall forum.
