Do you have an old pc and some hardware laying around like:
an old 64-bit pc that is able to boot easyos via usb 2.0
a pci-e to usb 3.0 card
a bootable usb 3.0 stick with Scarthgap-6.6.2 or later (Limine 7.12.0)
a bootable usb 2.0 stick with Kirkstone-5.8.4 (Limine 7.12.0)
Plug the Kirkstone stick into your usb 2.0 and the Scarthgap stick into your usb 3.0 port.
Boot your pc with Kirkstone-5.8.4 and add this to the /sda1/limine.cfg:
Code: Select all
:EasyOS Scarthgap662
COMMENT=EasyOS Scarthgap 6.6.2 kernel-6.6.75 bootup
RESOLUTION=800x600
PROTOCOL=linux
KERNEL_PATH=uuid://7ed400c8-5a25-11ef-8c87-a4ae11162368/easyos/Scarthgap662/vmlinuz
MODULE_PATH=uuid://7ed400c8-5a25-11ef-8c87-a4ae11162368/easyos/Scarthgap662/initrd
KERNEL_CMDLINE=rw wkg_uuid=7920b1e6-ddf4-11ef-9ab3-a4ae11162368 wkg_dir=easyos/ intel_iommu=igfx_off
Create the folder /sda2/easyos/Scarthgap662 and copy vmlinuz and initrd from your usb 3.0 stick (sdb2) to it.
Save the changes, restart the system and choose in the menu which version you like to boot.
You'll notice that data transfer will be twice as fast while booting with the usb 3.0 option.
