Unable to copy files and folders (Solved)

Post by Rademes »

Good day!
My system information is here: https://i.postimg.cc/6pdqT9LN/01-30-25-17-39-41.png
Today I have tried to copy some screenshots and the folder with screenshots to my USB flash drive /dev/sdc1 from working partition /dev/sdb2.
Each time I have got this error:

Why I can not copy folders on my USB flash drive? I am very surprised by this!

Hi, @Rademes :

I can't try this solution because I am not in rox (PcmanFM - Thunar) , but only as an idea (till some more advanced user helps u and solve your problem) try to change the name.

I think the time format can produce errors. (Try changing 17:00:32 to an expresion without : )

Sometimes the obvious is the solution.... hahaha (It is possible it works here)

Have a nice day.

Cheers

If /dev/sdc1 is a FAT (or NTFS) filesystem: it doesn't allow a colon (:) in the filename, so to fix, remove the colon from all filenames and it should work.
edit: pp4mnklinux mentioned similar already too (posting almost at the same time).

Thank you for your help!
Removing a colon (:) sign from filenames worked. Now I can copy files to my flash drives.
