@boof :-

Yeah; this WAS a problem with T-Bird until fairly recently. There never used to be an easy way to do this, AND it always had to be reset on a per-session basis. With the current LTS Thunderbird - 128 ESR - this can now be set permanently from the hamburger menu, top right corner.

Just click on it, and crank up the "Font Size" to where you want it. It's only recent builds of T-Bird that have this; it wasn't available until the last LTS build - T-Bird 115 ESR - came out around 18-20 months ago.

It's something that's been sorely lacking for a long time. Thankfully, it IS now "fixed". Personally, I'm astonished it's taken them as long as it has... :o

(I have the default "14 px" raised up to "22 px". That's big enough for me, but you can go as high as ya want.)

Hope that helps.

Mike. ;)

thx, glad to know. BUTT THE SOLUTION DOESN'T EXIST IN 128.5.2 [not LTS version???] the many posts on mozilla help indicated a serious, long term problem. what error have i made pls? i've just re-downloaded it from mozilla. no change.

I don't understand you. I'm in T-Bird 128.5.2 ATM, I have the hamburger menu open, and I'm staring at the 'Font Size' option as I'm typing this. How can it "NOT EXIST" when I'm looking at it?

Are you sure you're in 128.5.2? Check Menu -> Help -> About Thunderbird. What does it say there?

I don't use this normally, but just downloaded the latest version to check this problem out. As Mike said, open the menu from the 'burger' in the top right, and the Font selection is right there.

No, no, no, no, no. Boof!!! Wakey-wakey, matey... WHY are you trying to use the main Puppy system menu? You're not going to find Thunderbird build information there, are you?

Okay, I admit; perhaps I didn't make myself clear enough for you. What I meant was the "hamburger" menu in the app itself; this is at the top right corner of the main T-Bird window when it opens.....like 3 little horizontal lines, stacked on top of each other. (Hence 'hamburger', because that's what it looks like). Click on this.....and you'll find the 'Font Size' option staring back at you.

For T-Bird version information, at the bottom of this same menu, click on 'Help', then 'About Thunderbird' in the next menu to appear.

You can also set font size from 'View' in the Thunderbird toolbar.

===================================

"LTS" simply means 'Long Term Support'. These are periodic 'stable' releases, made alongside the mainstream builds, which are supported for around 12-15 months, rather than the 6 weeks or so for mainstream builds. Which is why I use them in the portable package...
