How to remove info text and how to make icons show?[SOLVED]

Post by Sky Aisling »

The machine and software:
Computer Vendor LENOVO
Product Name 80XK
Version Lenovo ideapad 320-14IKB with European keyboard

Operating System:
Distro Name fossapup64 9.6 (x86_64) Woof-CE Build

Hello Puppers,
These two questions seem related:
Where do I go to turn off the system information that appears under each object that shows on the screen? Where do I go to make the image icons active when an image file is initially opened?

The info text under each object is most distracting. This occurs in all areas of the system.
The icons do not show images in any picture file when the file is first opened. They do activate and show images when I manually activate them. I need the images to show when image file first opens.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

In the Rox window
right click and choose options
then
for showing icons
on left side click "Icon view"
after choosing icon view on right side in "Default size" choose your preferred icon size
after that
on right side "Default details" you currently have "Type"
change that to one of the following
No details (shows nothing)
Sizes (shows file sizes)
Permissions (shows file permissions)
Times (shows file times)

Then bottom right of window click "OK" when done
Close Rox then start Rox and your choices should be showing now (ツ)

:goodpost: That did it, dogcat! There are still some icons that take a right mouse click to open the"eye" icon to the specific image. But now that you've shown me the area to explore, I'll keep working this issue out.

Could be I need to upgrade Fossadog.

Glad that worked!

The "eye" icon hides and unhides hidden files, those are the filenames with a dot in front of them.

You can unhide all files using the "options" menu.
Right click on Rox, choose "Options"
On left side choose "New window", then on the right side tick the " Show hidden files" box.
Click 'Ok' and you will see hidden files by default.
You can still hide them by clicking the "eye" icon, if needed. 😉

If you want image files to show as an actual image all the time.

Rox Options ->Thumbnails -> check show image thumbnails

Now all image files will be a small image of what it is.
