Can u help me to delete these icons?

Post by pp4mnklinux »

As u can see, I am trying to use a clean desktop but I found a problem.

There's no way to delete these 7 icons (I deleted them, but they go back once and again).

viewtopic.php?t=12435#p129725

I deleted them , I look for them at startup ... but I don't know how to put them out.

I wanna place the drive icons centered, where is the option to modify the coordenades (x,y) ?/ in puppy you can do it with right click option, jiji.

Can any of u help me?

Thanks.

I updated to EasyOS 6.3;
No problems.

Test of JWM desktop mode.

The icon for the directory /root created in ROX mode appears in the jwm tray but it does not work.

The case of an icon to directly open a folder in ROX-Filer has not been considered by the conversion script.

But that's not important, I prefer the ROX mode. I think a desktop with lots of icons is more practical.

Dark Theme

Post by pp4mnklinux »

I updated my desktop to this dark theme.-

Using a dark theme on your devices can make a significant difference in eye comfort, especially if you spend long hours in front of a screen. The reduced brightness and contrast can lessen eye strain, particularly in low-light environments, helping to prevent headaches and fatigue. It also conserves battery life on devices with OLED screens, making it a practical and ergonomic choice.

Optometrists often recommend dark themes as a way to reduce eye strain, especially for those who spend extended periods in front of screens. While dark themes don't necessarily prevent long-term eye damage, they can help alleviate symptoms like dryness, fatigue, and discomfort. According to some specialists, darker backgrounds paired with lighter text can provide a more soothing visual experience, reducing glare and improving readability in dim environments.

For instance, a study published by BMJ Open Ophthalmology found that high contrast themes (dark backgrounds with light text) can reduce screen glare and make prolonged reading more comfortable, especially in low-light conditions. However, some research also suggests that dark themes might make text harder to read for certain users, especially in bright environments, where more effort is required to perceive light text on a dark background.

In short, while dark themes can help reduce strain in specific conditions, it’s important to adjust your screen settings to your own comfort.

Have you ever consulted an eye doctor about screen usage? What did they recommend for reducing eye strain? Share your thoughts!

What do you think? Do you prefer dark themes, and have you noticed any benefits for your eyes? I'd love to hear your experiences!

EasyOS_BlueLine

This EasyOS modded system, features a sleek blue-themed desktop environment with a collection of custom icons designed to provide a fresh, modern look. The minimalist yet elegant blue color scheme creates a calming and visually appealing workspace, while the personalized icons enhance navigation and give a unique flair to the system's interface.

At the core of the system's speed and performance is the ROX Filer, a lightweight and efficient file manager that allows for rapid file navigation and manipulation. ROX Filer's simplicity and responsiveness are crucial to the fast-paced nature of the OS, making file management feel almost instantaneous. This speed extends to the overall experience, ensuring that applications open swiftly, and multitasking is smooth, even on less powerful hardware.

The combination of EasyOS's unique container-based isolation and the high-performance ROX file manager delivers an ultra-responsive operating system, ideal for users seeking speed without compromising functionality or style.

Testing, but it looks good :)

How big is your EasyOS folder ?

Mine is 29Gb now... and going up...haha.

------------------------------------------------------------
@BarryK I wanna ask you a question about EasyOS hosting.

Is there any reason not to have it uploaded to sourceforge? (I ask this because sometime ago a moderator told me I must upload xfce_fusilli to sourceforge, as a pre-requisite).

Thanks

Recomended Option: AEROSNAP.- Menu, Desktop, EASY JWM Configure JWM, Window Label and you must tick on AEROSNAP option.

With this option enabled it is easy (for me) managing files and folders.

Give it a try.

Arrogant and lack of empathy

Interesting article. You have distorted the truth by disregarding your own actions.....I can always post all of the conversation and let the public decide.

Everything gets saved. And your pieces of the conversation are stored and available. Should we examine in detail your own part of this equation??????

I have decided to possibly respond here -> https://f96.puppylinux.com/

This site by the way gets LOTS of traffic.

You should be more careful who's toes you step on. I feel like this is a direct attack on my personal integrity.

I am not sure you understand the seriousness of this situation.

I read the postings you made mention of rockedge, had to follow a couple other links, and decided to post in response AFTER getting a notice
that the quoted post was reported by pp4mnklinux as "off topic", which I closed. I also read another posting at the site that was disparaging of

EasyOs ScarthGap 6.5.1.1

I'm really excited to be running EasyOS ScarthGap 6.5.1.1 on my computer!

The performance has been surprisingly smooth, and I’m genuinely impressed with how lightweight and responsive the system feels.

What really stands out to me is the fast boot time and the intuitive interface. It’s great to see a distribution that’s so user-friendly while still being powerful under the hood. I’ve also noticed that everything runs without hiccups – the applications open quickly, and the overall system feels snappy.

I’m pleasantly surprised by how well it handles my tasks, and I’m looking forward to exploring more of its features!

The virtue most praised by EasyOS users on DistroWatch is its emphasis on modularity and flexibility. EasyOS allows users to run applications in contained environments (using containers) with ease, enhancing both security and system isolation. Its ability to perform persistent and non-persistent boots, alongside unique tools like Easy Containers and its hierarchical filesystem structure, makes it an innovative and adaptable distro.
