Chess engine for eboard Chess?

HP Slimline Desktop PC
RAM=4GB
DISTRO: fossapup64 9.6 (x86_64)

Hello Puppers,
The goal is to play chess against the computer using the eboard version 1.1.3., the game that came with fossapup64.
What engine to you suggest?
Where is download for the engine?

You should be able to get Chess engines from the package manager PPM. I managed to get Crafty working fairly easily...never have defeated the engine ......yet........

Crafty used to hammer me long ago and running on old Pentium 3 machine or similar... But I once beat the damn thing - even then it fought crazy so was touch and go. On modernish computers?... forget it...
