How to have both Bluetooth AND computer speakers at the same time?

Post by p310don »

Heya,

I've gotten my head around bluetooth audio (mostly) and so that my neighbours can clearly hear my music properly, it'd be cool to output to both my computer speakers AND my bluetooth speaker at the same time.

Is this possible?

Further, is it possible to stream the output to another computer in the house to play the same audio output, at the same time, ie with no delay?

You can use the Default Soundcard Wizard + Aloopd Configuration, to:
a) output to BT speaker
b) output to computer speaker
c) send output to a remote machine, and have it play it using computer speaker (with minimal delay)
but only one at a time.

If you want to do all these at the same time, it's possible too, but some manual (=read: command line) work is involved, and you'll have to tolerate a delay (about 0.5 seconds for stable performance).

You may be able to do this using pulseaudio or pipewire. But pulseaudio is considered experimental in Fatdog, and pipewire is not even at that level yet, so plan for lots of reading and lots of experimentation time if you want to make it work (especially with the "network audio" part).

Although I'm sure future FATDOG will have such a tool for admin-users, add "qpwgraph" to your system. It is actively supported (although there are others).

With it you can VISUALLY SEE how your system connects to your audio devices. Visually you can see how it is 'actually wired" per se. This should immediately increase understanding as well as directing audio to physical devices where you see results of the steps you take with audio.

An invaluable resource

Hope this is helpful.
