We developed it before ZorinOS

Post by pp4mnklinux »

ZorinOS has launched its last distro (Zorin 17), and they followed ideas about 3D environment.

The value of ideas, the value of good work.

Jeez. "New" desktop Cube, huh? Yawn....

The legendary Cube was around long before Artyom & Kyrill released the first ever ZorinOS. It's nothing new. Even Knoppix has been using it for at least the last 15 years, if not longer....

It's not nice trying to claim credit for the work of others. Especially when those others have forgotten more about coding than you will EVER learn.

Mike. :o

fusilli is a compiz fork dead since 2015, and compiz itself is dead. Canonical kept compiz alive in some weird "maintenance mode" until Ubuntu's switch from Unity (which was built on top of compiz) to GNOME. Both fusilli and compiz predate F96CE-XFCE-FUSILLI, and both are dead.

When I see "we developed it", I wonder who's "we", what's "it" and what exactly was "developed".

I had a "cube" using an add-on window manager layer for MS Windows 3.1 in 1993

Looking at older Puppy builds, hasn't Compiz first appear around Lucid or thereabouts?

Also, from memory the spinning cube was used by Windows to report back on DirectX capabilities.

Well, if people continue touse/benefit from it, that's good.

"People who don't want to understand are not going to understand".

Now I wonder what this means, who's "people" and what it is that they don't understand.
