Can Kvm Qemu be Installed on Any Puppy Linux?

Post by JusGellin »

Can Kvm Qemu be installed on any of the puppy linux distros so it can host virtual machines?
If so, then how?
Or is a mainline Linux distribution usually used to do this? If so which would be the best?

I want something that is small and doesn't use many resources.
Thanks

Yes, QEMU is available in all modern forum distros' package-managers.

BUT, there is a special Puppy-created utility by @norgo that I HIGHLY recommend as it ensures the OS running on the PC will take advantage of the PC's KVM feature. So, your steps would be

  1. Use the PPM (or the package manager) to add QEMU to your running distro

  2. Run this forum PET

Once the 2, above, are complete, open a terminal and run 'qemu_ready' command.
This is done ONCE.

Have fun.
