latest seamonkey PET package(2.53?) for Bionic Pup64

Post by wasley51 »

greetings;
The seamonkey version 2.49.4 I've used is outdated for my Bionic pup64 needs, so does any know where I can download a current version Pet package of seamonkey (2.53?).
Thanks

Theres a portable seamonkey https://drive.google.com/uc?export=down ... hrv2xhpCr_

My current is updatable but I use to just extract the download and copy the files to /opt/seamonkey

https://www.seamonkey-project.org/

I don't use pup64 so I'm not sure where the seamonkey folder is stored. I've always kept them in /opt folder

Theres also a extra libraries file if needed download/file.php?id=11058

If you go here:
https://www.seamonkey-project.org/

Download the latest version for Linux, which most likely is what is already setup to do by clicking download now.

Select to download it to a location.

Navigate to where you downloaded the file: seamonkey-2.53.18.2.en-US.linux-x86_64.tar.bz2 (I picked US version).
UN-compress it using some program for doing this. (I used Pextract or Uextract programs.
In the directory created from UN-compressing will be a directory seamonkey with all the files in it.
Place this seamonkey directory in /opt/
To run it look in the seamonkey directory and drag and drop the seamonkey exec file on the desktop. (file named seamonkey)
Click on this desktop icon to run it.

In this version of Seamonkey under Help is check for updates
That should be how to now keep it updated.

If you want a menu entry for Seamonkey.
We can tell you how to manually make a seamonkey.desktop file to provide one.

The things you do not tell us, are usually the clue to fixing the problem.
When I was a kid, I wanted to be older.
This is not what I expected :o
