I asked @IdfbAn to raise this topic..........

I have no problem with the suggestion to update the VoidPup kernels personally, but felt that other users should be asked their views. @jrb @Marv @one

I guess if no views are expressed before the next build, then we will go ahead with the update.

It is of course possible to update the kernels separately to updating the .iso by downloading a 6.x kernel from:
https://github.com/puppylinux-woof-CE/w ... el-kit.yml

Builder of LxPups, SPups, UPup32s, VoidPups; LXDE, LXQt, Xfce addons; Chromium, Firefox etc. sfs; & Kernels

The update is fine here. I've run both 6.6.17 and 6.8.4 in VoidPup64 with no problems. Didn't want to step on @peebees' toes so I hadn't replied as yet.

My pups: LxPupSc64 and Voidpup64 with LXDE ydrv and synaptics touchpad drivers, both using small savefiles for customizations. Ydrv based NoblePup64 and Fossapup64-small (both LXDE/PCManFM with no savefiles). No fdrvs throughout. :thumbup2:

Note: Looking at Void site, their current version 2403 is kernel v6.6 and GTK4.

I have used 6.1 for awhile now on some of my non-puppy systems. I haven't had any trouble, it seems to be a fine kernel to me.

No problem here. I regularly switch kernels to match the machine.

Hi @peebee,

sorry for being late - health problems.

I still had problems with your voidpups regarding my ethernet connection (I had to add "ipv6.disable=1" to the kernel command line).

So I switched to your LxPupSc64 23.01 (kernel 6.6.17-lxpup64 (x86_64) which works flawlessly.

peace
