How to install puppy to hdd with UEFI boot?

Hi all,

I need some help on installing and booting puppy in HDD
I've exactly followed viewtopic.php?t=5275 but always after first booting puppy (no other OS alongside) for the first time, it goes to screen "reboot and select proper boot device".
my hardware is a laptop Samsung RV415 with AMD E-350 2GB RAM and a SSD (which supports UEFI).
It boots fine from USB or sd card, but after doing frugal install process, it goes to that screen...

Are any of you familiar with this?
One thing I've noticed, I have confirmed in Gparted I have FAT32 as boot flagged. If I run Grub4Dos it does not recognizes bootable partition (not sure if expected since using gpt partition).

If you please can share your thoughts to workaround this.

I'm not an expert on these things. But as far as I know, Grub4dos doesn't support UEFI boot.

In the link you provided, there are instructions for installation using the FrugalPup installer, which I think supports installation on a GPT partition.

Or try Grub2Config instead of Grub4Dos.

Another option would be to stick with Grub4Dos (with MBR instead of GPT) and switch to legacy boot in the bios.

Any time you post we need to know exactly what Puppy version you are trying to use!!!!!

The information about your computer is very helpful, also!!

You just need to get a good working boot loader installed on the drive.

You need a UEFI bios and GPT partition table setup support capable boot loader.

Frugalpup installer can do a UEFI boot loader install that should work with UEFI bios and GPT drive setup.

Use the Frugalpup installer to install the boot loader.

When it gets back to the main Frugalpup window.
Select the boot button.
Select the location of the frugal install.
Select the small 1st partition on the drive, as location to install the boot loader.
Select the boot loader type.
UEFI
mbr ->legacy bios boot
both

You can install the UEFI for UEFI computers.
mbr for legacy bios computers.
both, to boot anything. (best option for USB drives installs)

The UEFI will also install the needed files, to support secure boot enabled in UEFI.

When you first boot the drive, on a UEFI computer, with secure boot enabled.
A process will start, to allow you to install the Puppy security key, to the computer.
It will add this Puppy key, to the other ones, loaded on the computer.
